Winter and the Groundhog

I am happy the groundhog saw it's shadow so that winter can last a while longer. Yesterday the mayor closed all New York City schools again. Yay! I love when I have an extra day off. It gives me a chance to do the things that I have to do. I always say that the cold takes away everything that's in the air and freezes it. This year is the year of snow blizzards because it's snowing back and forth. When it snows it makes me happy because I love to see the snow falling. I love it when the snows on the ground nice and clean sparkling on the ground without a footstep. I enjoy winter and like the warmth it brings. When I am outside on a cold winter day whether it's buying food or shopping when I get inside the house after I unwind I will make some hot chocolate or tea and watch a good program on tv. It makes me feel good, and if it's snowing just sitting by the window watching the snow fall and enjoying my favorite activity makes me feel better. I just love those cold winter days because it's a time to get cozy inside my house and cuddle with my husband.

Waiting For The Snow To Come

Today When I went outside all the streets are full of salt and these little white balls because we are expecting a big snow storm. Everywhere you walk you step on salt or the little white balls. Everyone is racking up on items because the news reporters on tv said that there was going to be a big snow storm. They announced it yesterday and today when I turned on the tv this morning they were talking about it again. We all know that if that is so you need to rack up on food items because many trucks will not be able to deliver food to many supermarkets of grocery stores in the area because many trucks come from upstate and it snows the hardest up there. I am waiting for the snow myself because I love to watch it fall. I also like to walk in the snow when it's nice and clean shining like if had little diamonds. I love to walk on the neat snow and leave my boot prints. Then I look back at the trail that I have made with my boots. I am not a snowman maker but, last year I went to a park that is close by my house and someone had made a beautiful snowman. He had a pine cone for a nose and the eyes were two pine cones. The mouth was a thin tree branch that was curved in the form of a smile,the arms were two tree branches and he had a real scarf. He wasn't tall but it was so cute even the geeses that were just hanging out there in the snow were looking at him almost as if they also thought he was cute. Well I just look forward to watching the snow fall and then going for my usual walk in the snow to leave my footprints.
